The Institute of Geographical Studies
Dharani, USA, Inc.
Established in 2000, Dharani USA, Inc., is a sister organization to The Institute of Geographical Studies (TIGS), Bangalore, India.

Dharani USA, Inc. has been set up to be the legal entity in the U.S.A. to raise support for the work of TIGS’s work in India.

Dharani USA, Inc. is a 501(c)3 charitable organization under U.S. Income Tax rules and contributions to it are tax-deductible.
The Institute of Geographical Studies has set up GeoVidyaa Geography Centers (GVGCs) in Bangalore, Chamarajanagara, Mysore, Chennai, and Coimbatore.

Vision for the future of GVGCs:

To evolve the GVGCs into hubs of innovative geography education reaching out to K-12 students and their teachers.

To popularize geography and geography education among diverse constituencies.

To replicate theGVGCs in many locations around the country, each locally run and serving its region.

​We hope to raise funds that will empower each GVGC to become self-sufficient within about three years.

​The result will be a network of GVGCs pooling talents and resources with TIGS and partner organizations helping with larger tasks (e.g., large-size resource development).
